Daily Routine:

9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.  -  Free Play

  • The following play stations are available during this time: painting easels, computer room, ball pit, sand table, climbing toys, science center, dress up, puzzles, books, and much more

9:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.  -  Circle Time

  • The children gather in a circle and we talk about the upcoming activities for the week.  The children are encouraged to talk about any happenings in their weekly schedule

9:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.  -  Calendar Activities

  • Calendar and weather

10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  -  Table Activities 

  • Recognize and name colors
  • Recognize, name and draw shapes
  • Recognize, name and print the alphabet in upper and lower case letters.  Miss Cathy's patented method of alphabet recognition will be used.  This method of teaching that I have created has been taught by myself for many years and has tremendous results.  After completion of this teaching method nearly every child was able to recognize and name the letters of the alphabet. (4 year old Pre-K program)
  • Recognize, name and write numbers 1-10. (4 year old Pre-K program)
  • Counting numbers (1-100)
  • Recognize their first name
  • Recognize and print their first name. (3.5 to 4 year old Pre-K program)
  • Follow-up to eight-step direction
  • Creative arts and crafts using all types of materials every week (Tuesday & Wednesday)

**NEW** 10:30 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.  -  Reading Program for M-W-F A.M. Classes Only

  • Phonic - Sound/ Symbol Knowledge
  • 26 Letters Names/Sounds
  • Short Vowel Sounds
  • Long Vowel Sounds
  • Blending
  • All Short Vowel Keys (ex: at, am, an, cat, rat, etc.)
  • Vowels/Consonants
  • Decoding (sound out new words)
  • Easy to Read Level A
  • Beginning reading skills covered
  • Auditory Discrimination
  • Syllables 

10:50 a.m. to 11:05 a.m.  -  Snack Time/Fun Time

  • Snacks everyday (snacks provided by the parents, maximum of 2 turns per year)
  • Songs, games, stories, and much more

11:05 a.m. to 11:20 a.m.  -  Hands-on Computer Groups & Miscellaneous Activities

  • Hands-on computer groups
  • Show & Tell
  • Finger fun songs
  • Book of Thoughts - children work on parent's memorable book illustrated and written by their child throughout the year in nursery school.  This book will be treasured forever
  • Weekly Reader Magazines - a four page magazine that includes a social, science, history and puzzle page

11:20 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  -  Wrapping Up The Day Skills

  • The children learn how to put their coat on, zipper, button, etc.
